McLayne has made her arrival! Born December 11, 2010 (12/11/10, pretty cool b-day) at 5:03 pm. She weighed 7 lbs 6 oz and measured about 19 inches. She is beautiful and perfect and incredibly sweet. She was quite vocal the moment she appeared and continues to tell us loudly and clearly whenever she is hungry or needs something. McLayne waited for the perfect day to arrive, the Saturday between Eric's interviews and finals, and still 10 days early so her mother didn't have to get too uncomfortable. When she did decide to come, she came fast. She waited for me to get nice and comfortable with my epidural (at which point I was still pretty early on in my progression) and then, bam, next time the nurses came she was on her way, whether they were ready or not. Luckily there was one doctor around and all was well. It was actually kind of comical because I didn't even break a sweat. I mean, I didn't even have to do anything. Eric and I were like, did that just happen? It's done? It was fantastic. The recovery has been much better than last time, and baby and I are doing fabulously. It is so fun to have baby Layne in our family. Cruise loves her and gives her sweet big-brother-kisses.

I'm happy it went so well for you, you really look great in those pictures. :) Her name is also perfect, it's wonderful to remember your Mom through her. She has to be so happy! What a beautiful little girl! It's amazing how I can love her already and I haven't even met her yet. We're so happy for you and so happy that the labor went so smoothly.

Congrats, Eric and Joanna! What a doll! Glad things went well and hope they continue to. So, I am curious how you pronounce her name.... Does her name rhyme with RAIN or with RAINY? Either way, I really like it. Very unique and fitting for a girl. Congrats!!
